World's First Cat Cafe Train To Launch in Japan
Clearly, this is where the world of cat cafes was headed - to the rails! Japan's first cat cafe train is set to take off in September 2017.
Popular Japanese cat cafe Sanctuary is behind the world's first cat cafe train, which will make its maiden (and only) voyage on September 10, 2017.
There will be two options for the trip, and capacity for each leg is only 40 people:
- 10:30 AM from Yoro and arriving at 1 PM in Ikeno
- 11:20 AM from Ikeno and arriving at 2:50 PM Ogaki
Although it is a one-day event, its success may spur additional trips (both trips sold out in under one day!) Included in the ticket price of 3,000 yen (27 US Dollars) is: a bento lunch box with desserts, all-you-can-drink tea, and a ticket to Yoro Railway for 1-day unlimited travel. A portion of sales also go to the founding cat cafe, Sanctuary, as well as a Japanese animal protection group.
If you are lucky enough to have a ticket on one of the train trips, Sanctuary will be taking applications for foster parents of cats you meet on the train.
If there was a cat cafe train in the United States, would you book a trip? Do we really even need to ask that question?!
