Is America Ready For this Headless Animatronic Cat Butt?
Japanese company Yukai Engineering has unleashed (pun intended!) the concept of a new creation for pet lovers who want to keep their immaculate floors and unshredded couches: the Qoobo. It's a headless, legless animatronic tail cushion which mimics the actions of a real pet when you touch it. Is America ready for this?
In a word: no. In two words: HELL NO. But we are dutifully reporting its existence because YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS.
When not in use, it can serve as an interior design element...
Qoobo is billed as the "healing heart, tail cushion," and its instructions seem pretty straightforward to me even though I don't speak or read Japanese:
Seemingly in the vein of the Hasbro animatronic purring "cat companion,"
the Qoobo is designed to help the user feel calmed by the [simulated] presence of a real animal. The Qoobo will come in two colors, "Husky Gray" and "French Brown."
The folks at Engadget tried one out and had this to say:
Engadget also reveals that Qoobo will launch via a crowdfunding campaign later this year with an intended June 2018 release, and will feature a USB charging port with 8-hour battery life.
Feelin' blue
Playing coy!
