This week, "Interviews With Cats" features two of our favorite New York City kitties, Ziggy and Lambchop (aka Chopper)! They're living the good life as chief toy testers for their mama's cat toy biz, and occasionally work as cat models on their Instagram account @life_of_ziggy. Read all about em right here!

We are poifect angels!

Q: Tell us about yourself! Name, nickname, age, city, siblings, etc.

Ziggy: I am 6 years old. I was born in Brooklyn, but currently live in Manhattan. My nicknames include Zigs, Zigzilla, Big Boy and Bubba

Chopper: I am 3 years old. My origins are unknown, but mom adopted me from a shelter in central New Jersey when I was 7 months old. My nicknames include Chops, Chopperdoodle, Fatty McGooGoo, and Miley (as in Miley Cyrus)

Q: Is there a special story behind your name?

Ziggy: My official name is Ziggy Staccato Mamba. "Ziggy" comes from mom's love of chevron/zig-zag print. The "Staccato Mamba" part comes from the Fox TV show "Bones" (season 6 episode 15, if you want to google it).

Chopper: My official name is Lambchop Harajuku Girl. "Lambchop" is the name I was given at the shelter, but mom kept it because she thought it was cute and she's friends with @_porkchopthecat_'s roomie! "Harajuku Girl" comes from mom's love of Gwen Stefani and all things kawaii!

Q: What’s the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to you?

A: Most exciting thing to happen to us is probably when we were featured in an AP article about ugly Christmas sweaters for pets in 2015. It was picked up by a lot of news websites, but also went to print! Our buddies @nolababies sent us a copy of the article from their local paper with a full color picture of us looking like catalog models!

Q: What’s your favorite treat?

Ziggy: PureBites freeze-dried chicken treats are my absolute favorite! Mom has to watch her fingers when she gives them to me!

Chopper: I will eat anything and everything. Unfortunately, my food obsession has forced mom to put me on a D-I-E-T! How rude!

Q: Tell us about a time you got in trouble with your meowmy:

Ziggy: Occasionally, I will hop on the counter and unroll the paper towels, but I'm a perfect angel compared to Chopper…

Chopper: What are you trying to say? You don’t throw away perfectly good raw chicken scraps! Dumpster diving is all the rage these days #Freegan

Q: What’s your favorite holiday and why?

Ziggy: My favorite holiday is one that DOESN'T involve getting dressed up, but mom is slightly obsessed with getting us Halloween costumes so we indulge her.

Chopper: I don’t mind the costumes so much. Dressing up = more treats in my belly!

Q: What’s your favorite toy and why?

A: Our favorite toys are #KickersByCatie, duh! Catnip & feathers, what more could a kitty ask for? We are also the official quality control department and test each new batch to ensure they meet our high standards. Q: Do you have any special talents you’d like to share?

Ziggy: I am quite the acro-cat and have been known to leap onto mom's shoulders for a ride when she least expects it! When I was a baby I even perched on top of her head!

Q: What do you do that annoys your parents?

Chopper: I like to groom/eat mom’s hair while she’s sleeping. I know it annoys her, but then she will get up and give me treats to stop! #Winning

Q: Do you have a best friend? If so, who?

Ziggy: I am a lone wolf and prefer to do my own thing.

Chopper: I have a foxy sugar daddy that lives up the block. We go on dates to the park, maybe you have heard of him? Knox of @_meow_york_kitties

Q: Do you have a favorite pastime?

Ziggy: I enjoy spending time at the window, keeping an eye on things. If I’m not on guard duty, you can find me napping in the top basket of our cat tree.

Chopper: When I’m not meowing for food I like to roll around and show off my belly fluff. Sometimes I roll right off the couch and mom laughs at me. I keep her pretty entertained.
