Interviews With Cats: The Emoji Cat!
This week in "Interviews With Cats," our very special guest is The Emoji Cat! He just so happens to bear an uncanny resemblance to a certain whiskered character that we're all guilty of typing into pretty much every sentence. Check him out on Instagram @TheEmojiCat and read on for his official interview!
Q: Tell us about yourself! Name, nickname, age, city, siblings, etc.
A: My name is Zeus but I’m better known as The Emoji Cat. I’m almost five years old and live in Portland, Oregon.
Q: What’s the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to you?
A: Every time my parents leave for short trips they free feed me. Also sometimes a bug gets into the condo and I get to hunt it.
Q: Tell us about your best day ever:
A: I’m living my best life, so every day is my best day ever. I wake my parents up to feed me delicious raw chicken, lay in the sun for at least 8 hours a day, play with my toys, climb in my cat tree tower and spend ample time looking out my windows. On extra-special days I get to lick a spoon full of yogurt.
Q: What’s your favorite treat?
Q: Tell us about a time you got in trouble with your meowmy (or cat dad):
A: They always get super upset when I scratch the couch but then they always say I can do it when Crate & Barrel sponsors me… whatever that means.
Q: What’s your favorite holiday and why?
A: I love Christmas because the Christmas tree becomes another hiding spot for me.
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: I’m already The Emoji Cat so I’m pretty set.
Q: What’s your favorite toy and why?
A: My favorite toys are my mice toys because they’re so fun to fetch. My favorite possession though is my cat tree because I like to play chase with my parents and it’s my “base.”
Q: Do you have any special talents you’d like to share?
A: Is being beautiful a talent?
Q: What do you do that annoys your parents?
A: Not very many things, but here’s a few they bring up a lot: waking them up early on weekends, “helping” with breakfast, “helping” with dinner, scratching the couches, knocking things off the table, sleeping on placemats, breaking into their closets and sleeping on their clothes, playing with my ping pong balls at 2am, tripping them while they’re walking, stalking them at night before bed, trying to eat their morning yogurt, not helping with chores, not paying rent, eating their flowers, and crushing the couch cushions. Like I said not very many things.
Q: What’s your favorite color?
A: Black, white and grey. I really like to work with a minimalist palette.
Q: Do you have a best friend?
A: I’m my own best friend. It’s really hard to connect with other animals who don’t have emojis based off of them.
Q: Do you have a favorite pastime?
A: Sleeping in the sun
