Interviews With Cats: Seamus & Angus
Q: Tell us about yourself! Name, nickname, age, city, siblings, etc.
Seamus: Seamus / Shay Moose / Moose / Shamey Pants / Judge Joe Brown / 3 ½ / Richmond, VA / Angus
Angus: Angus / GusGus / GG / Bebe / Muffin / 2 ½ / Richmond, VA / Seamus
Q: Is there a special story behind your name?
S: My official name is Sir Seamus O’Blarney. My parents have always been enamored with all things Irish and they got me shortly after taking a trip to Ireland. With my beautiful ginger fluff and stocky build, an Irish name seemed only fitting.
A: I was named Lord Angus Wellington because I’m beefy and the name complimented Seamus.
Q: What’s the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to you?
S: I’m not one to get “excited,” however, when they pull out Gary the stick, that makes for some high quality time.
A: Everything both excites and scares the living daylight out of me. There was this one time though, that I found a Cheeto on a plate and realized the deliciousness of cheese. That was awesome.
Q: Tell us about your best day ever:
S: I love the fall, I mean, the colors naturally compliment my coat. This past fall, some of my favorite Instagram friends came and stayed with us, including Mrs. Porkchop, Uncle Pete, Ms. Pockets_N_Boots, Ms. Delaney and all the way from California, my human girlfriend, the Fraulein of @liladolf. We had so much fun riding in the car, going to the pumpkin patch, and meeting fans at Starbucks. It was a great day.
A: We got to deliver Pizzas to raise money for Ma’s school and met some of her tiny humans. They were so nice and excited to meet us, we even let them hold us.
Q: What’s your favorite treat?
S:Whisker Lickin’s in the blue shake tube!
A: I don’t eat treats – trying to watch my girlish figure.
Q: Tell us about a time you got in trouble with your meowmy (or cat dad):
S: The first three weeks when they brought home Angus, they thought I was being mean to him. They didn’t understand I was simply hazing him for Ginger Cat Initiation.
A: I get away with a lot, using my puss n boots face, but I get in loads of trouble when I hide from the folks. One time, I snuck under a dresser for hours while they panicked and searched for me. Now I’m too chunky to do it.
Q: What’s your favorite holiday and why?
S: National Napping Day, although traditionally observed the day after the return of Daylight Savings time; I like to honor it year round. And stay in practice daily.
A: Is summer break a holiday? Yes? Then June – August.
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
S: A dirty old man.
A: Bigger than Seamus. Vengeance will be mine.
Q: What’s your favorite toy and why?
S: Gary the stick. Although he’s less of a toy and more of a companion. We get each other.
A: Anything Seamus is currently interested in or playing with. It makes him walk away and then I stop playing with it. I also LOVE fake mice. That’s why they call me GusGus!
Q: Do you have any special talents you’d like to share?
S: I’ve taught myself how to sneeze on command as a form of self-defense to escape unwanted affection from humans.
A: I can snort like a piggy when excited or scared or playful. I can also roll like a hotdog warming at 7-11 when I’m trying to bathe myself.
Q: What do you do that annoys your parents?
S: Walk out of the room and then act like I don’t know where anyone is by meowing loudly.
A: When I hide from company. They are always trying to show me off and I just want to be left alone.
Q: What’s your favorite color?
S: I don’t see color.
Q: Do you have a best friend(s)? If so, who?
S: Angus, Lil Adolf, Gremmie, Uncle Pete
A: Seamus, Ma, Aunt Chrissy, My Fairy Godmothers, and all of our Insta Friends!
Q: Do you have a favorite pastime?
S: I like to stand on my stoop and yell at birds, “Get off my lawn!”
A: I love jumping up on the couch to watch the folk’s excitement at the thought of me sitting with them and then jumping right back off again. It’s hilarious. You can actually see their hearts breaking every time. Every. Time.
