Meet Woody - He's a precious 3 month old kitten in NYC (and burgeoning Instagram star!) looking for his forever home.
Woody and his sister Grant came to their foster mother Laura at just two weeks old having been pulled from the "to be destroyed" list in NYC at animal care and control. They had panleuk (95% fatal), pneumonia, and conjunctivitis. It looked like they weren't going to make it and after multiple trips to the emergency room with vets telling their foster mom Laura that they would just be doing supportive care until they passed, both pulled through! Woody is blind in one eye as a result of the disease but it doesn't slow him down in the slightest.
Woody and Grant's foster mom also started them an Instagram account @federalfelines! Grant was recently adopted (you go, girl!) but Woody is still in his foster home. Laura can only foster until she goes back to school (SOON!) and it would be such a shame to see this sweet baby back at a shelter.
Woody is located in Manhattan but he's adoptable anywhere! He is in good health but he will always carry the dormant virus that could cause flare ups of conjunctivitis in times of stress but it's very easily treated. It's also not contagious to other animals or humans. He had his first fvrcp shot and is scheduled for his second, neutering, and a cosmetic eye surgery next week!
He's adoptable through Anjellicle Cat Rescue and the fee is $125 (includes the fvrcp shots, neutering, and microchip). If you or anyone you know is in the market for a sweet cat, please share and reach out. You can also contact Laura directly: lauraplimpton13 [at] gmail [dot] com.
