Cheshire Cat And Other Cats In Public Art

In 2016, San Francisco might get some creepy cat artwork painted onto an overpass, if it's voted the winner of 3 finalists. The cats that LA-based artist Peter Shelton proposes are of the more abstract variety - some featuring glowing eyes, as well as bronze sculptures whose eyes would light up at night.

If his submission is voted the winner, the "Cat Bridge" will join some other famous cat-themed works of public art. Check them out below.

Note: Some of these are/were installations that will not be there indefinitely, so do your research before embarking on that cat art world tour. Wink.
