Craft Brew Cat Schools Us On Beer And The Art Of Being Adorable
Meet "Craft Brew Cat", also known as Mary-Kate Tia Simon (sister of Ashley Tamera Garfunkel). Her friends (and now us!) call her Mary.
Mary shares her life through the craft beer she's enjoying (licking the side of) on her Instagram account @CraftBrewCat. Mary, like many young professionals without children, has lots of hobbies like listening to records, warm blankets, and string of any length; but mostly she enjoys discovering a new brew.
It’s five o’clock somewhere … but it doesn’t matter what time it is cuz Mary’s a cat….
We "spoke" to Mary and here's how she began on her beer-loving journey:
"I wasn't into beer after first, but once my people started bring home craft beers I was hooked. I would steal a lick anytime I could. Now there is a drawer in the fridge full of craft beer dedicated to me!"
“I wish I had opposable thumbs so I could open the darn thing myself.”
Mary was born in Minnesota but relocated 5 years ago to Austin, TX. You can tell by the beers she licks she has a strong connection to both homes. Here she is "enjoying" an Austin, TX "beer-mosa" - made with Hops & Grain brew and OJ.
Mary says:
"I'm a long time licking enthusiast. When I was a kitten it was mosts vegetables, plastic bags, and windows. Now I've found my calling."
Oh yeah ... that's the stuff.
She says: "Its a really exciting time to be a craft brew cat. There are so many new beers to try. I feel Im just licking the surface."
